School Holiday Tours for the Whole Family
I don’t know if its just me but kids seem to on School Holiday more than actually at school. However we are not complaining because it brings families who are out for good times to Rotorua! It’s almost school holiday time again so here are a few of my favorite tours to enjoy with the family during your valuable time off.
Zorb
An absolute icon! What’s not to love about sailing down the hill in an inflatable ball! Not only can I guarantee the kids will love it, the adults WILL have a blast as well. It’s become a school holiday tradition in some families. Zorb create their own balls on site and are the pioneers of the activity. There is no better place to do this anywhere else in the world than right here in Rotorua. The view from the top is something special too! Located 5 minutes drive North of Rotorua City Centre. Next to Skyline Rotorua, Rainbow Springs and Mitai Maori Village.
Skyline
Another ‘world famous’ icon. An absolute ‘must do’ during the school holidays. Family races down one of the 3 luge tracks for bragging rights, the jelly bean shop, wine tasting for mum and dad, amazing food and drink – it’s all just a gondola ride away! There is a reason these guys have become so famous around the world and it is because they are amazing! Located just 5mins from the city center on the road towards Hamilton.
Redwoods Treewalk
By day or by night the Redwoods Treewalk is an amazing school holiday activity. By day you can walk among the gentle giant redwoods hearing the bird life in the forest. By night you will see amazing lanterns and lighting effects as you walk through what feels like a fairy tale forest. Great for all ages, all mobility levels and another Rotorua ‘must do.’
Rotorua Duck Tour
The Ducks are a must during the school holiday. Experience a journey on New Zealand’s ONLY genuine WW2 landing crafts and marvel as you go from land to lake with ease. It’s so much more than that though! Our guides, who are our biggest asset, will have you in stitches of laughter as they teach you about the area in their own unique way. It’s great for all ages!
So there are options a-plenty! We look forward to welcoming familes back to Rotorua for the school holiday period and having a whole bunch of fun until it’s time to head back to school and work. Let’s all make the most of our time to get out and try something new. See you all soon!
