Seniors Tours
Rotorua has such a fascinating past and is rich in Māori history and legends, and we weave these stories and information into fun, entertaining commentary on the Duck. Older guests especially really enjoy hearing about Rotorua’s colourful past.
- Our Rotorua City & Lakes tour is a great option – privately book the Duck for your group and enjoy the history and stunning lake scenery of this 1.5 hour tour.
- We can tailor our slightly longer Tarawera & Lakes tour to include a morning or afternoon tea stop at our local cafe. This is a great option for Seniors, as it means guests can stretch their legs, have a cup of tea and a cake and then board the Duck again for the second half of the tour.

Mobility
We host lots of seniors groups and are always happy to help people on and off the Duck. A great thing about our tours is that once you’re on board, you don’t have to leave your seat to move around unless you want to, so mobility isn’t an issue. One of the best things about our amphibious WW2 ‘Duck’ vehicles is that we’ll take you from land to water, without the need to leave your seat – brilliant!
We’ll keep you warm & dry
Our roll-down windows make our tours comfortable whether it’s winter or summer. It’s a good idea to dress warmly if you happen to be visiting us on a cooler day. Plus, we promise you won’t get wet at all (unless it’s raining – then you might get hit by the odd droplet).
Making sure our commentary is heard
We always do sound checks before a tour starts to make sure the volume of the commentary is good for everybody on board. We also complete regular checks of our sound systems to ensure even sound throughout the whole vehicle.

The Ducks are now heated for cooler days! We have clear roll-down sides and heaters on board the Duck. Our lakes are very sheltered and don’t get affected much by the weather, if anything they get more beautiful! We are prepared for all weather!
