Good Eastern Taphouse (Good George) – Awesomeness in a bottle and in your Tummy!
A favourite drinking and eating establishment for locals, walkers and mountain bikers. Located at the start of Tarawera Road and close to The Redwoods and lakes. The Good Eastern has a great atmosphere for both indoor and outdoor drinking/dining. The burgers are renowned along with Good George Beers and Ciders and children’s menu. A great first up option for reconnecting with family and friends for both lunch and dinner.
Velocity Valley – Awesomeness in an Adventure Park!
Looking for that adrenaline fix that the whole family can join in on? With speed, spins and jaw dropping action, Velocity Valley has 6 incredible activities to choose from including New Zealand’s only commercial Jet Sprint boat. Strap yourself in and hold on tight. Other awesome products for family entertainment include the Swoop, Bungy and Freefall.
Rotorua Duck Tours – Awesomeness on the Lakes!
This is a product that is just awesome for the whole family both young and old. The children love it because its big bright and yellow and splashes into the water while the adults love the fact that the Duck is a piece of WWII history. Keep your family engaged with two different tours to choose from including the Rotorua City & Lakes Tour (90mins), which is perfectly suited to younger families while the Tarawera & Lakes Eco Experience (120mins) is great for older family groups. Visit up to 4 lakes including the incredible Lake Tarawera at the base of Mt Tarawera. Both tours are fully guided by a hilarious and entertaining guide that also acts as a local historian. The Duck operates daily at regular intervals.
Treewalk Nightlights and Redwoods Walks – Awesomeness in the Forrest!
Another fantastic way to reconnect with nature is at the Redwoods Treewalk and Nightlights. The excitement builds the moment that you see the majestic Californian Redwoods trees and the swing bridges that connect them. The nightlights are amazingly spectacular with ferry lights, hanging lanterns and much more. A trip to the Redwoods is not complete though unless you take one of the many tracks that depart from the I-Site through the Redwoods. From a five-minute walk up to 8 hours right up to search and rescue, the choice is up to you. Walk amongst these incredible Redwoods and discover the many hidden gems.
